Streetwalker style icon Meghan Markle is scheduled to strut down the aisle at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle on May 19th of this year. Before that disastrous undertaking, the noted liberal has found time to take a few more pot shots at President Donald Trump.
As their big day approaches, the newly-engaged couple is no doubt whittling down their wedding guest list. According to a source close to the matter, Ms. Markle has made a single demand of her fiance Harry.
Under no circumstances does she want the 45th President of the United States attending her wedding.
In May 2016, Ms. Markle was asked on “The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore” how she thought the momentum surrounding then-candidate Trump could be stopped.
She replied: “It’s really the moment that I go, we film Suits in Toronto and I might just stay in Canada. I mean come on, if that’s reality we are talking about, come on, that is a game changer in terms of how we move in the world here.”
And Harry is likely to appease his fiance and not invite President Trump. He could easily claim that they wanted to invite only people they know, as Trump and Harry have not actually ever met.
Well, the Queen had something to say about all this…
The Daily Mail reports the 32-year-old royal won’t asking former Democrat US President Barack Obama to his upcoming nuptials. Harry’s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, reportedly intervened and explained that it would be a “diplomatic timebomb” if Obama was invited and Trump wasn’t.
“President Trump will not be invited because the wedding will be for friends and family only,” was the excuse that a source told the publication Harry prefers.
When Harry was a guest editor of Radio 4’s “Today” show last month, he was asked if he would be inviting his friend Obama.
“I don’t know about that,” he replied.
“We haven’t put the invites or the guest list together yet, so who knows whether he’s going to be invited or not? I wouldn’t want to ruin that surprise.”
Uh, yeah. The Queen herself has spoken and sorry Meghan, if Trump can’t come, neither can Barack.
What do you think of the Queen laying down the law?
